Marvel Upcoming Movies What’s Next for the MCU?

Marvel superheroes in an epic cinematic showdown featuring iconic characters from Avengers and Guardians.

From Marvel Studios entering Phase 5 and heading on toward Phase 6, fans all over the world are getting hyped over the next waves of superhero movies. Be it reboots of classic characters or brand new heroes, Marvel has it all. Here goes the detailed preview of what exactly one should expect from the MCU over the coming years.

1. Captain America: Brave New World (2025)

One of the highly anticipated films in the MCU is Captain America: Brave New World, expected to release this February 2025. It will continue the arc of Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, as Captain America. The story picks up with the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as it follows how Sam settles into being Captain America in a world still reeling from events of the past.

Expect appearances from the likes of President Ross, played by Harrison Ford, to the return of Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader in this political intrigue-packed and action-filled movie about superheroes that creates a base for big events in future Marvel films.

2. Thunderbolts (2025)

Following Brave New World, Thunderbolts will round up some of Marvel’s most complicated characters for a darker, grittier team-up movie. This will star Florence Pugh as Yelena, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, and David Harbour as Red Guardian. The Thunderbolts are pretty much the team of bad guys who work for the government-so one can expect a different feel from the other team-driven MCU movies.

This could be a great stage for showcasing the Marvel anti-heroes in a new, action-packed movie with moral intricacies.

3. Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

Ever since Disney took over rights to the characters, Marvel fans had been asking for the Fantastic Four’s inclusion into the MCU. The release date of Fantastic Four: First Steps is this July 2025. Introducing this team to a whole new generation, the Fantastic Four are going to be in good hands with Pedro Pascal at the helm as Reed Richards. This reboot has vowed to be a little different from previous ones by avoiding the traditional origin story and just diving straight into action.

It’s supposed to set the stage for some major cosmic events in the MCU, with Galactus, as played by Ralph Ineson, being the villain, and Julia Garner rumored to play the Silver Surfer.

4. Blade (2025)

Mahershala Ali stars as the iconic vampire hunter in Blade, bringing the darker, supernatural side of Marvel to the foreground. Following a number of production delays, it now sets up shop as a November 2025 release. Blade’s introduction is expected to tie into the broader MCU, particularly with the supernatural and cosmic characters.

Ali’s casting, let alone the great ensemble cast, hints at Blade delivering on the horror elements many fans of Marvel have been wanting, at least since the reveal of some characters like Dane Whitman from Eternals.

5. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2026)

The Kang Dynasty is one of two upcoming Avengers movies that are supposed to culminate the Multiverse Saga in explosive fashion. Finally, it’s the cue of Kang the Conqueror, who was introduced in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, to strike against the Avengers. It’s all going to involve time travels, shenanigans across the multiverse, and an all-out war between the heroes and Kang.

It is supposed to reach the box office in May 2026 and shall most probably guide the setup for Avengers: Secret Wars.

6. Avengers: Secret Wars (2027)

The next big event movie, Avengers: Secret Wars, from MCU, will arrive in May 2027. Little is known about the plot for this movie, but it is very likely that it will mash up heroes from across the multiverse. Of course, the fans speculate that the Secret Wars will include several characters that have been in Marvel franchises such as X-Men and Fantastic Four.

It is expected to be the climactic ending of the Multiverse Saga and promises to be a movie that rivals even Avengers: Endgame in both scope and impact.

7. Other Exciting Marvel Projects

Aside from these major films, Marvel has a host of other projects in the pipeline:

  • Ironheart (2025): A Disney+ series focusing on Riri Williams, a young genius who builds her own Iron Man-like suit.
  • Armor Wars: Originally planned as a series, this project will now be a feature film following War Machine (Don Cheadle) as he deals with the fallout of Tony Stark’s technology being misused.
  • Deadpool 3: Set for 2024, this film will feature Ryan Reynolds’ return as Deadpool, along with Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine (CINEMABLEND).

Conclusion

Each of these upcoming Marvel movies is a bit more than just a blockbuster; each is an intricate piece of the greater MCU narrative. As Marvel progresses with its multiverse and new character development, these movies will see the induction of complex story arcs and deep character development with the potential for massive crossovers. From classic returns such as Captain America and The Avengers to newer characters joining the screen, such as the Fantastic Four and Blade, MCU makes its influence felt across the genre.
